Covid 19
According to the Scottish Government, managers of community facilities have discretion over when they consider it safe to open for any activity permitted by legislation and may decide to remain closed if they are not able to safely follow the advice in the relevant guidance, to make the space COVID-19 secure. We are also able to refuse hires if we feel they will not be able to follow the current ruling on social distancing, wearing of gloves and masks where necessary, etc.
We have completed the required Covid 19 risk assessment, which can be viewed on our webpage and will be pinned up in the Hall. We have had some enquiries for hiring, and so far we will be able to accommodate them.
Only the main hall will be available in general, taking a maximum of 10 - 11 people. Children under 12 do not count towards this limit. Entry will be through the fire door near the stage and exit by the far fire door.
The club room will be off limits except for 1 to 1 meetings (children under 12 do not count towards this limit) with entry through the main door and exit through the fire door.
Only one adult at a time will be allowed into any of the toilets. The stage and back-stage room are also off limits. The kitchen will be unavailable except by special request.
Hand sanitiser pumps will be provided inside both fire doors in the main hall, and in the club room. Hands free disposal bins will be available. Other cleaning materials will be provided where necessary.
Enhanced cleaning will be done after each hire, and a cleaning rota notice displayed. All items lying around in the kitchen and communal areas have been removed *. Our cleaner has PPE equipment provided in line with Health Protection Scotland Guidance. Following the guidelines, we have purchased a bag-free vacuum cleaner which will be emptied after each use and have replaced the mops and bucket with a mop which uses disposable/washable mats. Hirers will not be expected to put out or put away tables and chairs or do any cleaning during Covid restrictions.
